Who Should Apply?

This role is ideal for professionals who have:

• A National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Public Administration, or HR Management

• A qualification that includes Research Methodology (NQF Level 6)

• 3+ years’ experience in a junior management role

• Strong experience in:

  • Programme evaluation

  • Research and statistical analysis

  • Policy and transformation initiatives

  • Professional report writing

What You’ll Be Doing

As Deputy Director: Evaluations, you will help strengthen transformation initiatives across the department by:

✔ Evaluating transformation programmes and assessing their impact
✔ Leading research projects and developing evidence-based policy recommendations
✔ Designing evaluation tools such as surveys and questionnaires
✔ Preparing professional reports and presentations for decision-makers
✔ Monitoring HR transformation and equity practices
✔ Leading and mentoring a team of evaluation and research professionals

Your work will directly contribute to improving policies, programmes, and transformation outcomes within the Department of Defence.
