Who Should Apply?
IPID is looking for candidates who possess:
✔ A Financial Management qualification at NQF Level 7
✔ At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a financial environment
✔ Strong knowledge of public sector financial legislation and systems
✔ Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
✔ The ability to work efficiently under pressure
Candidates with knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations, Internal Controls, PERSAL, BAS, LOGIS, ELS, and government budgeting systems will be well positioned for this role.
What Will You Be Doing?
As Assistant Director: Financial Accounting, you will be responsible for overseeing critical financial operations across the organisation, including:
Revenue Administration
- Monitoring revenue collection and reconciliation processes.
- Ensuring public funds are properly managed and safeguarded.
- Managing banking transactions and electronic payment allocations.
Debt and Expenditure Control
- Supervising debt recovery processes.
- Managing supplier payments and expenditure verification.
- Ensuring compliance with approved budgets and financial regulations.
Transfers, Subsidies and Reporting
- Authorising transfer payments and subsidies.
- Preparing financial reports for National Treasury.
- Supporting financial statement preparation and account reconciliations.
Team Leadership
- Managing and developing financial accounting staff.
- Monitoring performance and ensuring quality service delivery.
- Providing guidance, coaching, and professional support.
