High-Level Leadership Opportunity: Deputy Director – Municipal Support
GTAC is seeking an accomplished professional to join its Municipal Finance Improvement Programme as Deputy Director: Municipal Support (Ref: G06/2026).
What You’ll Earn
- Competitive all-inclusive package of R1.1 million to R1.29 million per year
- Fixed-term contract until 30 June 2027

Who Should Apply?
You should have:
✔ A Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Local Government Finance, Municipal Financial Management, or a related field
✔ 6–8 years of relevant experience
✔ At least 2 years of management experience
✔ Strong knowledge of municipal finance legislation and governance frameworks
Candidates with public sector experience, project management expertise, and technical advisory skills will be highly regarded.
Your Impact
In this role, you’ll help drive financial excellence across municipalities by:
- Leading municipal support projects
- Coordinating technical advisors
- Monitoring programme performance and budgets
- Supporting legislative compliance
- Building municipal financial capacity
- Engaging with key stakeholders

Salary Package
- Between R338 106 and R398 277 per annum
- Additional employee benefits

Minimum Requirements
Applicants need:
✔ A National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Secretarial Studies, Office Administration, or a related qualification
✔ 2–3 years of administrative support experience
✔ Excellent organisational and communication skills
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will:
- Manage executive diaries and schedules
- Organise meetings and prepare documentation
- Coordinate travel arrangements
- Maintain records and filing systems
- Handle correspondence and communications
- Provide administrative support to programme teams
