The Government Technical Advisory Centre (GTAC) is looking for a motivated Assistant Director: Project Support to join its Municipal Finance Improvement Programme (MFIP) team in Pretoria.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting projects that strengthen municipal financial management and governance across South Africa.

💼 Position: Assistant Director – Project Support (MFIP)
📍 Location: Pretoria
💰 Salary: R468,459 – R551,823 per year (Level 09)
➕ Benefits: 37% in lieu of benefits
📅 Contract: Fixed-term until 30 June 2027

Who Should Apply?
This opportunity is perfect for professionals who:
✔ Have a Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Project Management or Project Administration
✔ Have 2–3 years of project administration or project management experience
✔ Preferably have experience supporting government or public sector projects
✔ Are highly organised and comfortable working in fast-paced environments
✔ Have strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project
Knowledge of the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) and Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) frameworks will be an added advantage.

In this role, you will support project managers and technical advisors by ensuring that MFIP projects run smoothly and efficiently.

Ensuring project documentation meets governance requirements

Preparing documentation for audits and reviews
📅 Meeting & Travel Support

Organising project meetings and workshops

Preparing agendas and meeting packs

Coordinating local and international travel arrangements
🤝 Client & Contract Support

Acting as a first point of contact for client departments

Managing technical advisor contracts and records

Processing invoices and timesheets
