The Eastern Cape Department of Health, in partnership with the Eastern Cape College of Emergency Care, is calling on passionate and experienced Emergency Care Practitioners to take the next step in their professional journey. An exciting opportunity is available for an EMS Course Coordinator Grade 4 based in the Nelson Mandela Metro.

Salary Package: R528 072 – R594 864 per annum (OSD)

Who Should Apply?

We are looking for dynamic professionals who meet the following criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or BTech in Emergency Medical Care

  • HPCSA registration as a Paramedic or Emergency Care Practitioner

  • At least 3 years’ post-registration experience as an ECP

  • A minimum of 2 years’ lecturing experience at a College or University

  • Strong skills in teaching, assessment, and moderation

  • Experience in curriculum development (advantageous)

  • Proven leadership, coordination, and administrative ability

  • Computer literacy

  • A valid C1 driver’s licence and PrDP

What You’ll Do

As an EMS Course Coordinator, you will play a critical role in both academic excellence and operational success by:

  • Coordinating Higher Certificate and Diploma programmes in Emergency Medical Care

  • Managing Clinical Practice and CPD programmes

  • Overseeing Advanced Medical Rescue and short learning programmes

  • Supporting and managing clinical preceptors in experiential learning settings

  • Assisting with the day-to-day operations of the College

  • Contributing to additional strategic programmes as required
