Opportunity 1: Principal Court Interpreter – Mthatha
The OCJ is seeking a skilled and experienced Principal Court Interpreter to join the Eastern Cape Division of the High Court in Mthatha.
Salary: R413,001 – R486,501 per annum
This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about ensuring effective communication and access to justice within the courts. The successful candidate will interpret complex court proceedings, supervise interpreter services, translate legal documentation, and assist with coordinating language support services.
Requirements:
- National Diploma in Legal Interpreting or equivalent NQF Level 6 qualification; or
- Grade 12 plus 10 years of practical court interpreting experience
- At least 2 years’ experience as a Court Interpreter (for diploma holders)
- Proficiency in English, isiXhosa, and either isiZulu or Sesotho
Applicants with leadership experience and strong organisational abilities will have an added advantage.
Opportunity 2: Administration Clerk: Legal – Kimberley
Looking to start your career in the legal sector? The Northern Cape Division of the High Court in Kimberley is offering an excellent entry-level opportunity for ambitious candidates.
Salary: R237,453 – R279,708 per annum
No previous work experience is required, making this an ideal opportunity for recent matriculants and aspiring legal professionals.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 certificate
- LLB qualification will be advantageous
The role involves legal research, court reporting support, case flow administration, data analysis, and providing critical support to court management.
