The Department of Land Reform and Rural Development is calling on experienced, visionary professionals to take up strategic leadership roles on its Risk Management Committee.

Chairperson – Risk Management Committee

This high-impact leadership role requires an independent external expert who can provide strategic oversight and guide the Department’s risk governance agenda.

What You Bring

  • Postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 8)

  • Extensive public sector governance experience

  • Prior service on a Risk or Audit Committee

  • Deep knowledge of:

    • Public Finance Management Act

    • ISO 31000

    • King IV Report on Corporate Governance

    • Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO)

    • Public Sector Risk Management Framework

Remuneration is aligned with the hourly tariff determined by the Auditor-General of South Africa in accordance with Treasury Regulation 20.2.3.

The Department is seeking dynamic professionals with specialist expertise in:

🔹 Rural Development & Land Reform
🔹 Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
🔹 Law (Admitted Attorneys)

You should have:

  • A postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 8)

  • Experience advising Accounting Officers, Boards, or Executive Authorities

  • Strong knowledge of public sector governance and compliance

What You Will Do

  • Strengthen financial and risk management systems

  • Promote transparency and accountability

  • Evaluate internal controls and governance frameworks

  • Contribute to at least four committee meetings annually
