This high-impact leadership role requires an independent external expert who can provide strategic oversight and guide the Department’s risk governance agenda.
What You Bring

Postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 8)
-
Extensive public sector governance experience
-
Prior service on a Risk or Audit Committee
-
Deep knowledge of:
-
Public Finance Management Act
-
ISO 31000
-
King IV Report on Corporate Governance
-
Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO)
-
Public Sector Risk Management Framework
-
Remuneration is aligned with the hourly tariff determined by the Auditor-General of South Africa in accordance with Treasury Regulation 20.2.3.

🔹 Law (Admitted Attorneys)
You should have:

A postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 8)

Experience advising Accounting Officers, Boards, or Executive Authorities

Strong knowledge of public sector governance and compliance
What You Will Do

Strengthen financial and risk management systems

Promote transparency and accountability
-
Evaluate internal controls and governance frameworks
-
Contribute to at least four committee meetings annually
